Textile companies across East Lancashire are adopting digitalisation to help them grow their businesses further.
125 companies from the sector based in the North West, including 35 in Lancashire, are embracing a new technology programme, Made Smarter, to help develop their businesses.
The programme provides impartial expert technology advice, digital transformation workshops to help them take their first steps, a leadership programme, digital technology internships, and skills development support.
Businesses tapping into Made Smarter support include Blackburn firms Linzi Jay, a manufacturer of communion gowns and bridal accessories, and clothing makers Cookson and Clegg; and Edward Taylor Textiles.
Cookson & Clegg is improving both productivity and cost control across its operations by adopting digital technology.
Managing Director, Patrick Grant said: “Capturing data from the shop floor and being able to monitor it in real time is an exciting first step on our digital transformation journey.”
