Fans are urging each other not to buy Rainbow Six Siege’s new monthly membership plan, while criticising the lack of content in the latest update.
Ubisoft has kept its live service shooter Rainbow Six Siege running for nine years and it still averages tens of thousands of players a day on PC alone, while churning out four updates each year with new maps and skins.
However, the latest update, Operation New Blood, hasn’t impressed fans and to make things worse Ubisoft will soon be pushing a new $10 (£8) monthly membership that hands out extra perks.
This has sparked a call to boycott the membership plan before it’s even out, as the announcement trailer has also been disliked 22,000 times, compared to its 9,000 likes.
The new update doesn’t include a new operator, which is usually almost always the case, but adds a remaster of the already existing Recruit operator. Operation New Blood also doesn’t come with a new map, much to fans’ disappointment.
