Brits are bracing for travel chaos on Thursday after the Met Office issued weather warnings for dense fog with temperatures set to plunge to -3C.
After a mild end to 2022, winter conditions have returned with the mercury dropping and warnings of dense freezing fog this week.
The Met Office has now issued a yellow weather warning for fog for a swathe of southern England and the West Midlands which is in place until 11am.
The forecaster said those in the affected regions should prepare for the possibility of travel disruption this morning.
Slower journey times as well as delays to bus and train services, together with ‘difficult driving conditions’ and ‘rapid changes to visibility’ have all been predicted.
There is also a chance of delays or cancellations to flights because of the conditions.
