The Rolling Stones have announced a new album, their first studio collection of original material in 18 years.
Featuring the core trio of Mick Jagger, Ronnie Wood and Keith Richards, the band shared details about the album, Hackney Diamonds, on social media – and are set to be interviewed by Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday about the release.
It will also be their first collection without drummer Charlie Watts, who died in 2021.
They shared the news with the message: “New album, new music, new era,” and a short video skit showing Fallon receiving a call on his “Stones phone” to summon him to the UK capital.
The interview with the American chat show host will take place in Hackney, east London, and will be live-streamed globally on their YouTube channel.
The Rolling Stones last album of original music was A Bigger Bang in 2005, while their last studio album, Blue & Lonesome, which comprised blues covers, was released back in 2016.
