A rare black squirrel has been captured chomping into a batch of Christmas walnuts – after making friends with a photographer. Adorable six-year-old Indy was pictured tucking into the delicious festive meal that James Linsell-Clark laid out for her in the back garden of his home in Cambridge.
James said the friendly little animal had started turning up at his property five years ago and he now feeds her a healthy nut-based breakfast every morning. And he joked that she was a very ‘classy’ lady as she prefers Walnuts and Hazelnuts but won’t touch almonds.
James said he’d given Indy a special sack of her favourite food for Christmas and she was more than happy to strike a cute pose for him while dining out of them. He said: “She has been coming to our house for four to five years. I started putting nuts out for her and then lately she’s got more friendly.
