Those dreaming of tropical shores will be happy to hear some dreamy long haul popular destinations will soon be accessible again for tourists.
International travel is due to resume from May 17 under the UK Government’s roadmap to reopening, with plans for a ‘traffic-light’ system categorising different countries by varying degrees of quarantine restriction.
But the list of countries that Britons can travel to will not be known until nearer May 17 and will be subject to change.
The Maldives
The Maldives is to reopen to visitors and will be offered Covid-19 vaccinations on arrival.
The country’s tourism minister, Abdulla Mausoon, has announced the popular holiday destination will introduce a 3V – ‘visit, vaccinate and vacation’ strategy on island resorts.
Tourists are set to be offered two doses of the vaccine, meaning they would need to book a holiday for a few weeks.
