BRITAIN will bask in temperatures as high as 24-25C today, as Brits prepare for more summer weather this week.
The Met Office’s Aidan McGivern said “many places will be fine with warm sunny spells for much of the time” – with parts of the UK clocking in HOTTER than Spain during Saturday.
Highs of 24C are expected in London and 21C in Newcastle on Sunday – but Met Office meteorologist Sarah Kent warned it will “not be wall-to-wall sunshine”.
“First thing on Sunday morning there will be quite a lot of cloud across central parts of England, eastern Wales, and down to the south-west. And in that zone there will be outbreaks of rain, with the odd heavier burst of rain in the south-west,” she added.
Bookmaker Coral has slashed the odds to 1-2 (from 6-4) on 30C or higher being recorded in the UK before the end of the weekend.
The firm is offering 4-5 that this month ends as the hottest June on record, while it is 4-6 that this summer is the hottest ever in the UK.
