The manager of a Belfast city centre gym has described the news of reopening as “overwhelming” as they prepare to open their doors for the first time since Christmas on April 30.
As the latest set of lockdown restrictions continue to ease this week, Friday will see gyms and swimming pools allowed to reopen for individual exercise or one-to-one training/coaching.
Paddy Farrell is the manager of Anytime Fitness on Great Victoria Street and is delighted to get back to work.
Speaking to Belfast Live, Paddy said: “Hearing the announcement was just fantastic, I think all of us felt great, everyone was buzzing and the messages we’ve got through social media and our phone was incredible.
“Even now, it’s constantly people telling us that they can’t wait to get back and to be honest when it was first announced, it was a bit overwhelming not just for me but for all the guys.”
