Bear hugs for Huan Huan
Huan Huan, a giant panda on loan to Beauval Zoo in central France, gave birth to two female cubs, weighing 149g and 129g – a cause for some celebration given that giant pandas have considerable difficulty breeding. There are only around 1,800 left in the wild, with 500 more in captivity worldwide.
Electric cargo bikes deliver
More than 100,000 were introduced in Europe between 2018 and 2020 and are estimated to be saving, each month, the same amount of CO2 needed to fly around 24,000 people from London to New York and back. The bikes also deliver about 66 per cent faster than vans in city centres, dropping off 10 parcels an hour compared with six for vans, according to a study.
Shropshire’s fine fortifications
