The PlayStation Portal – the handheld games console designed to stream PS5 games over wifi – has been out of stock for almost two months, and it received its first restock of 2024 in late January.
Priced at £199.99, the PlayStation Portal launched on 15 November and quickly sold out across the UK. It looks like a traditional handheld games console, but you actually need to own a PS5 console to use it. The handheld device remotely streams games from your main console to the device over your local wifi connection, bypassing the need for a television and letting you play games anywhere at home.
The device resembles a Nintendo Switch bookended by two halves of a DualSense controller, has an 8in display and is capable of 1,080px resolutions and refresh rates of up to 60fps.
While the PS5 allows players to stream new games via the cloud with PS Plus Premium, the PlayStation Portal can’t stream PS5 games that aren’t already installed on your home…
