A New York financial services software and cyber security company is to create 100 jobs at a new technology centre in Belfast.
The roles at Agio will be a hybrid of home and office based, the latter at Urban HQ on the city’s Upper Queen Street, and cover engineering, analysts, cybersecurity consultants and business development roles.
When all the roles are in place – the company has filled 19 of the posts so far – they will contribute £4.5 million a year in salaries to the local economy, a figure which works out at an average salary of £45,000, well above the Northern Ireland average of £28,000.
Garvin McKee, Chief Revenue Officer at Agio, is originally from Northern Ireland and said the company has had good feedback from its customers who have worked with its Northern Ireland staff.
“We are confident that a Northern Ireland base will continue to add excellent talent to our service organisation. Invest NI has been extremely helpful and has given us key insights to the ICT sector, provided introductions to key stakeholders and information on the skills on offer.
