Amid a torrent of leaked details, Google has officially confirmed in a teaser video that it will reveal the Pixel 9 series and a new folding phone in full on 13 August – two months earlier than the usual October reveal dates for new Pixel phones.
Google will announce the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro at its upcoming Made by Google event, alongside a second-generation Pixel Fold. Originally a standalone device, this year the foldable is branded the Pixel 9 Pro Fold to bring it in line with the main series phones. There are also rumours of a Pixel 9 Pro XL in this year’s line-up.
Google typically reveals its new Pixel phones in October each year, following Apple’s announcement of its newest iPhones each September. This year the search giant has changed tack, and Google will arrive first to the party to announce its latest tech.
