According to one insider, Rare’s Everwild has had to be rebooted and may not release for another two or three years.
There has been very little news about Everwild, the next major game from Rare, since it was first announced two years ago. Despite now having two very pretty looking trailers, both were purely cinematic and didn’t really explain what the game is about.
The only other piece of news to come from it was when its creative director resigned, with no reason given as to why. And now it’s been claimed that development has been rebooted.
The day before Microsoft’s E3 2021 presentation, insider and GamesBeat journalist Jeff Grubb was asked on his YouTube podcast if Everwild would appear during the event, to which Grubb emphatically said ‘No.’
‘I mean, it got rebooted, this thing had to get rebooted. Everyone knows the creative director left and when [he] left they restarted production on that game.’
