Mexico City. Mexico has improved its position in the field of cybersecurity, despite being one of the most hacked countries.
According to the International Telecommunication Union’s Global Cybersecurity Index (from2020, the country ranked 4th in the Americas in terms of cybersecurity and 52nd globally, out of a total of 182 countries.
The index was topped by the United States, the United Kingdom, and Saudi Arabia. In America, it was the United States, Canada and Brazil.
The country scored 81.68 points out of a possible 100. The best evaluated aspects are technical and collaborative measures in the field of cybersecurity, as well as development capacity.
Meanwhile, regulatory and legal procedures are the weakest areas.
The ranking consists of a self-assessment conducted by countries regarding their cybersecurity.
