A man whose car was his “pride and joy” died after crashing into a tree, an inquest has heard.
Luke Richardson, 31, from Darlington, died instantly after his heavily modified Vauxhall VX220 came off the road and collided with the tree off the A483, just south of Llanwrtyd Wells, at around 12.50pm on October 5 2019.

An inquest into Mr Richardson’s death at Pontypridd Coroner’s Court on August 25 heard the vehicle burst into flames after hitting the tree, with the driver and his passenger, Joseph Flanagan, trapped inside before being pulled from the wreckage.
Mr Flanagan suffered multiple fractures and severe burn injuries, but Mr Richardson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, despite efforts to revive him.
Emergency services – including an air ambulance – attended the scene and the road was closed for more than six hours.
