A Cambridgeshire village sports centre has announced they will be closing for the foreseeable future. Melbourn Sports Centre confirmed the news earlier this week.
The centre first opened on the grounds of Melbourn Village College in 1991. Its facilities consist of a 30m indoor heated swimming pool, 3G floodlit astroturf football pitch, fitness suite and gym among other things.
However, it shut down unexpectedly on Friday (April 26) after management company ‘Be Active Melbourn Ltd’ went into liquidation. The college said they were exploring alternative options and all weekend bookings were cancelled.
