Ruben Neves has emerged as Manchester United’s latest target as Ralf Rangnick targets a new midfielder.
The interim boss is expected to add reinforcements in the upcoming transfer window as he starts to mold United to his liking.
And the German has identified the middle of the park as a priority as he looks to sign a holding midfielder – something that the club failed to do in the summer under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
United have been heavily linked with Amadou Haidara from RB Leipzig given Rangnick’s familiarity with the Malian international when they worked together in Germany.
Monaco star Aurelien Tchouameni is also on the 63-year-old’s shortlist.
