DAVIE BOY TO BOSS IT

Darren McGregor jokes that he got to know David Gray better because they shared a bench for so long.
But the Hibs veteran, 36, insists his close pal is far from sub-standard as a boss.
McGregor is unlikely to start against Celtic in today’s Premier Sports Cup final.
But he will still play a key dressing-room role for the caretaker gaffer and promised the team are in good hands. He said: “Dave played right-back and I was right centre-half, so we had that bond.
“Then in the year we spent on the bench together we got to know each other quite well!
“We always sat together and had a lot of long conversations.
“We’ve been friends a long while, but I take my hat off to him as he just started coaching this year and has done really well.
“He has come in, done all the team talks and got respect straight off the bat.
“So it’s great having Davie to lead us out at Hampden. It’s a testament to his character he’s stepped up to the mark.
