Redecorating a bathroom can be a huge job – and a costly one, too.
But one woman from Basildon decided to help her nan save the pennies by creating a unique painted toilet herself.
Abbie Smith put her artistic skills to good use to transform her nan’s plain bathroom toilet into one with an intricate Victorian-inspired floral design.
The 22-year-old also kept costs down by using paints she already owned from her crafting hobbies.
Abbie said: ‘I’ve always been creative and loved drawing and painting, so my nan asked me to give her bathroom a makeover.
‘The project was inspired by Victorian style baths and toilets, which were usually decorated with flowers and vines.
‘I chose a few flowers that I thought would complement each other and gathered acrylic paint for the project. These range between £2 and £10 per tube and I already had these from my other craft hobbies.’
