A woman from Derbyshire was left so distressed when her beloved dog vanished for two days that she called Derbyshire police.
The elderly lady, from Matlock, called the police after she hadn’t seen Toby, her Cavalier King Charles spaniel, for a while.
However, it turned out that her pet had been trapped under her reclining chair the entire time.
According to reports by Team Dogs, officers visited the 93-year-old woman’s home to make sure she was coping with the situation and see of she needed any support.
As PC Tammy Wood, of Derbyshire police, was sitting speaking to the woman, she reached for an item that had fallen on to the floor.
When she went to pick the item up, she noticed a furry face staring back at her from the chair.
Toby appeared to be unharmed, other than being a little hungry and thirsty.
Officers made sure that he was fed and watered before leaving the home and PC Tammy Wood said the pair looked overjoyed to be back together.
PC Wood said: “Both Toby and his owner appeared to be over the moon to be reunited, and it was clearly a huge relief for the woman.
