A woman has expressed her concern over parents being given preferential treatment when it comes to booking holidays and annual leave from work.
She saw a post on Facebook where a parent wanted their colleague to give up some of their booked holidays to allow them to have the time off instead. The colleague refused the parent’s request, which led the woman to open the discussion on Mumsnet, branding the parent a “cheeky f***er”.
Taking to the parenting forum’s popular Am I Being Unreasonable (AIBU) thread, the woman, who is a parent herself, asked: “AIBU to think parents shouldn’t get preferential treatment when it comes to time off work?”

She then explained: “I just read an article on Facebook about this. A parent had asked a childfree colleague if she could have some of her saved holiday days and was refused (understandably).
“That’s obviously a CF [cheeky f***er] request. But in general, what do you think about parents and holiday requests Vs childfree colleagues?
