Sunday was officially the hottest day of the year in Wales and people were totally ready to take advantage of the sun
Wales was treated to some glorious weather this weekend as temperatures soared up and down the country.
Sunday was officially the hottest day of the year so far in Wales, according to the Met Office, with the temperature reaching 30.2°C (86.4F) in Cardiff.
Monmouth also experienced some of the hottest weather on Sunday while places like Newtown in Powys, Carmarthen, and Swansea weren’t far behind.

With wall-to-wall sunshine across both days it was no surprise that crowds of people flocked to beaches and beauty spots in Wales to soak it all up.
Huge numbers gathered at Barry Island for a day on the beach while Rest Bay in Porthcawl also attracted plenty of sunbathers on Saturday and Sunday.
Beaches in Gower, including Caswell and Langland, were packed with visitors as they tried to make the most of the heatwave.
