A warning has been issued after a dog walker found a piece of chicken with glass inside.
The sinister discovery was made on Cribden Hill in Rossendale on Tuesday (April 6).
Rossendale Responsible Animal Rescue said one of its volunteers was out walking her two French bulldogs when one of them picked up a piece of chicken.
Due to his allergies, the owner immediately took it off him.
To her horror, she found a shard of glass inside the food.
It is believed it was placed there deliberately to ‘fatally’ injure an animal.

Bosses have now issued a stark warning to those walking dogs in the area.
