A village church could be transformed into a health and fitness studio.
The Culmstock Methodist Church last year applied for permission to convert to a dwelling due to a ‘dwindling’ congregation, but the potential new owner is hoping his ‘dream will come true’ and be allowed to run his business there.
The building has not been used as a church since 2018 as congregation numbers diminished. Then as a pre-school before being found not viable to continue and the children were amalgamated into the nearby primary school in September 2018.
The building is currently on the market for £90k with Thorne, Carter & Aspen having been first listed on September 23, 2021.
As of December they had 32 viewings, and a ‘considerable number of enquiries’ from various parts of the UK.
