Snow and strong winds could lead to possible disruption to travel on Sunday, causing the UK’s national weather service to issue a warning from 00:15am to noon. Gusts reaching 35 to 45mph in some places are expected.
Two warnings are in place from Perth to Glasgow and from the Scottish borders down to Leeds.
However, the risk of snow primarily concerns mountains in Scotland and North England.
Dan Pydynowski, a senior meteorologist at AccuWeather.com, told Express.co.uk: “The yellow warning for snow in Scotland is mainly in the mountains and higher terrain north of Glasgow.
“So, any impact on travel should be minimal as the wind and snow will only be confined to relatively sparsely populated areas across the higher terrain.
“In England, it is a similar situation as the yellow warning for snow is mainly confined to the higher terrain of the Pennines.
“So, again, major impacts on travel are not anticipated outside of the mountains for the more populated areas that will just see rain.”
