Two boys aged 16 have drowned after getting into difficulty in a lake in northern Ireland yesterday evening.
One of the teenagers is thought to have gone to try and help his friend who was struggling, but both became unable to make it back to shore.
They had been cycling in the area near Lough Enagh, and a group of boys went into the water at a jetty on Bank Holiday Monday.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said officers were called shortly after 6.25pm to reports of a number of people in difficulty in the water in Co Londonderry.
Multiple ambulance crews were deployed, as well as the air ambulance.
One of the boys was taken from the water but later pronounced dead in hospital.
The body of the second youth was recovered late on Monday night following extensive searches by Foyle Search and Rescue and police divers.
