Visitors to one of the most popular walking and cycling trails in the Peak District will not be able to travel along the entire route this winter. Sections of the Tissington Trail are currently temporarily closed to allow for ash dieback tree safety work.
From Monday, December 4, temporary closures on the Tissington Trail will be in place from Tissington to Alsop. This closure is from Monday to Friday.
Ash trees are being felled in this area to help tackle ash dieback and minimise the safety risk to trail users from diseased, weakened and falling trees. Felling will take place in short sections along the route and these will change throughout the felling period as each area is completed and re-opened.

Sections where no felling is underway will remain open, but no through access will be possible via closed areas. The full trail route will be open and available at weekends.
