The place in question is Beddgelert, a 500-strong Snowdonia community. There’s plenty to do there, and any activities will be against the backdrop of breathtaking nature.
Make your first stop Gelert’s Grave, just a short walk along a footpath from the village. The monument marks the resting place of Gelert, Welsh Prince Llewelyn the Great’s faithful hound.
According to legend, the Prince slayed his dog after mistakenly blaming him for the murder of his child. TripAdvisor reviewers wrote about the grave: “Interesting but sad story about Gelert and Prince…
