Tucked away at the back of Cabot Circus, there is a small gardening project.
It is located along Wade Street and, from it, you can see the back of the shopping centre car park.
The traffic noise can sometimes be heard but, despite being in such a central location, the garden is a peaceful spot.

“At the moment, we are growing chard, spinach, parsnips and winter salads,” said Julie Baly, gardener trainer at Putting Down Roots. “We have a few in the group that like to take home with them their organic veg.
“In the summer, we have a cut flower bed and also grow things like beans, salad, tomatoes, courgettes and squashes.”
Putting Down Roots is a horticultural therapy and training project by homeless charity St Mungo’s, using gardening as a tool to help people in their recovery.
The project has been going on for about seven years in Bristol, starting in 2014 in a patch in Castle Park by St Peter’s Church.
