Good Housekeeping has named this season’s top Easter egg and you are going to have to shell out to get it. Budget brands could not keep up with their high-end competition with Fortnum & Mason putting on a cracking display and taking the top spot.
The £35 treat was named top egg as part of Good Housekeeping’s annual taste test with the luxury store defeating its supermarket rivals including Tesco, Aldi, Sainsbury’s, and big sweet producers like Nestle and Cadbury’s. As part of its Easter taste tests, the Good Housekeeping Institute tested 195 Easter products including eggs, hot crossed buns, meat, seafood, and vegetarian.
Each item is shortlisted by a panel of experts which is then passed on for a consumer review, conducted via blind taste test. Good Housekeeping then assesses which were the top-scorers for a whole host of reasons, accounting for everything from sustainable living preferences to budget and dietary requirements.
Fortnum and Mason had the highest-rated egg, with its Piedmont Hazelnut & Blonde Chocolate scoring 96/100 and priced at £35 for 190g. Tasters…
