A roundabout has been submerged in water as Britons up and down the country brace for yellow Met Office weather warnings cautioning thunderstorms.
Much of Trafalgar roundabout in Truro, the capital of Cornwall, has been submerged following a flood at the busy junction on Monday lunchtime.
The incident comes on the same day as South West Water announced that there will be a hosepipe ban in Cornwall starting on Tuesday, August 23 at 00:01.
The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings covering all of England, Wales and Northern Ireland, as well as most of Scotland, cautioning thunderstorms today.
While rain has plastered much of the west, the east has yet to report heavy rainfall. Meanwhile, three flood alerts have been issued, signalling that flooding is possible in these areas.
The places affected are: the Essex coast from Clacton to and including, St Peters Flat and the Colne and Blackwater estuaries; Tidal River Avon at Bristol, Pill and Shirehampton; and Tidal Thames riverside from Putney Bridge to Teddington Weir.
