UK weather: The latest Met Office forecast
Storm Claudio has caused train cancellations and delays as 70mph winds swept through southern England.
Lines were not running this morning due to disruption caused by the storm – including a trampoline.
Other services, including ones going into London Bridge, faced delays as the bad weather continued to batter southern areas.
The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for wind for the south until 8am on Tuesday, saying the weather could risk causing disruption.
Winds of up to 70 miles per hour have hit parts of England’s southern coast after the storm battered northern France.
Storm Claudio is expected to move eastward to bring heavy showers across southern and central England on Tuesday.
The climate crisis is making extreme weather events – including storms – more frequent and intense.
The new storm comes after the UK experienced above-average temperatures as October drew to a close.
