The aviation industry has been hit by restriction after restriction since the pandemic first arrived here in the UK.
And it continues with now 40 ‘red list’ countries being outlined by the Government as unsafe, and as a result travellers from these areas are banned from entering the UK.
India is the latest country to be added to the list following a surge in cases of the new India variant which has recently emerged.
A shocking 295,000 new cases were reported in the country in the last 24 hours with the Independent reporting that hospitals are now overwhelmed.
It means that the 40 countries face restrictions preventing anyone – apart British or Irish nationals, or anyone who has residence rights in the UK – from entering the UK.

If you are one of the above, you will be allowed to enter but must quarantine for 10 days in a government-approved hotel.
India will officially join the list at 4am on Friday, April 23.
The likes of Brazil, Columbia, Kenya, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines are all on the list.
