A Jack Russell has been rescued and returned safely to her owner after falling down a cliff at Cruden Bay.
Sparky was out for her morning walk near the coastline at New Slains Castle on Saturday when she slipped and became stranded at the foot of the cliff.
Coastguard rescue teams from Cruden Bay and Macduff were scrambled to the area following reports of a stranded dog.
Equipped and trained for rope rescue, a technician was lowered down the cliff face to reach Sparky’s location.
With nowhere to turn, the pooch jumped across to the other side of the gully, out of reach of the rescue officer.
Following a number of failed attempts to lure her back with treats, the RNLI Peterhead lifeboat crew stepped in to assist.
