Landscaper Paul Baines shows the children how to plant the flowers

Nursery children took part in some planting as part of National Children’s Gardening Week (May 29 to June 6).
Ten children from Hillside Playcare Centre in Southminster, Essex were welcomed to the David Wilson Homes Blackwater Reach development in the village to take turns digging and planting lavender and geraniums as part of a collaborative effort.
With assistance from Baines Landscaping, the children enjoyed learning how to garden while brightening up the development for new homebuyers.
David Wilson Homes sourced children’s gardening equipment including trowels, forks, watering cans and gloves for those in attendance, which were subsequently donated to the nursery for future use.
