A SOUTHAMPTON family has been left devastated after their pet dog was killed in an alleged hit and run incident.
Gemini the French Bulldog was killed instantly during her late-night walk on Ellwood Avenue.
Her owner, Alison Hawkins, had been taking her and two other dogs out before ‘bedtime’.
However, a van “came out of nowhere” hitting the two-year-old pet.
It is then said to have sped off down Marston Road without stopping.
Alison, 45, has been left devastated and hasn’t stopped crying since Gemini died at around 11.30pm on Wednesday, according to her daughter, Beck.
Beck, 26, said: “It’s really sad. I think how awful for them to cause so much destruction.
“A van came flying out of nowhere. It killed her instantly.
“It’s devastating.”
Beck says her mum owns two other ‘Frenchies’. Lilo and Hudson.
And, that the family fell in love with Gemini when she was born.
