The stage is set, the lights are on and the curtain is up which can only mean one thing – it’s panto time at De Montfort Hall.
Family favourite Sleeping Beauty opens today at the Leicester venue, Saturday, December 11.
The show was originally set to be performed last Christmas, but had to be postponed due to the pandemic.

The cast have been rehearsing for the past two weeks, making sure everything is perfect for the opening performance. Whilst they have been practising their lines, an army of technicians has been busy making sure the stage, lighting and sound is perfect.
Janice Dunn, writer and director of the pantomime, said: “It’s great to be back in Leicester on stage and creating the panto magic. Everyone has worked so hard to make this year’s show bigger and better than ever, and it means so much that we can actually put on a show this year.
“There are some amazing effects and illusions in the show, as well as some massive musical numbers, loads of jokes and comedy. The finishing touch is getting the auditorium full…
