Yobs who forced the closure of a Derbyshire beach beauty spot are facing a crackdown.
The sandy area at Foremark Reservoir, near Repton, was sealed of after a number of anti-social behaviour issues
People continually ignoring warning signs and swimming in the dangerous reservoir waters have been confronted by police which has led to the beach areas around the water now being closed and fenced off.
Now a showdown meeting has been held in a bid to tackle the issue, reports Staffordshire Live.
Mercia police safer neighbourhood team officers attended the reservoir, where a meeting was held with representatives from Foremark, Derbyshire County Council’s highways team, the local parish, district and county councillors, Safer South Derbyshire Partnership and a representative of local residents.
Police have been called out on numerous occasions – a man was spotted defecating in public, others were caught having barbecues, which could have cause fires. There have also been many issues with visitors parking dangerously on the grass verges outside the site when the car park has been full.
