Council bosses in Reading have confirmed they have no objections to a controversial plan which could see a housing development built on a Tilehurst beauty spot.
Reading Borough Council’s planning committee briefly discussed the plans from developer U+I Pincents Lane for 165 homes off Pincents Lane, in Tilehurst.
The plans have been submitted to West Berkshire Council, but Reading councillors were asked to provide a response due to the development’s proximity and potential impact on the town’s road network.

The council previously agreed it had no objection to the plans in April.
However, in the face of strong opposition from local people, the developer scaled back its plans and reduced the size of the development from 265 homes to 165. As a result, Reading had to respond again.
The response was the same, with the council’s officers saying the original larger plan was not considered to have a detrimental effect on Reading’s traffic flow.
