Ravenswood Pet Rescue based in the Fens has released recent photographs of some of the rescues now looking happy and well-looked after following their ordeal.
Last week, Tina Shortell, 67, managed to avoid a prison sentence after admitting to an animal cruelty case the investigating officer for the police said she “will never forget”.
The animals – 18 dogs and three cats – were discovered at a property in Guyhirn.
Their fur was long and matted, soaked with urine and faeces.

Some were expecting litters with around 20 puppies and five kittens born afterwards.
While all the animals rescued survived, some of the newborns didn’t make it. This is likely because of the conditions their parents were living in.
