The Prince of Wales once revealed that a comment about the Duchy of Cornwall, made by his son William, the Duke of Cambridge, made him shed tears.
The 2019 ITV documentary, Prince Charles: Inside the Duchy of Cornwall saw the heir to throne – and Prince William, who is next in line – open up like never before, reports The Mirror.
Talking to Duchy farmer Mervin Keeling about Cornwall, William said: “I’ve started to think about how I will inherit the Duchy one day and what I do with it.
“I think it’s really important, the family angle, I really do.”
In a later clip, Charles reflected on the conversation between his son and the farmer.
“I was deeply touched and moved by what he said,” revealed Charles. “Frankly, it reduced me to tears. It did, really.
“Because, I suddenly thought, well, just hearing that from him has made the last 50 years worthwhile.”
The exchange has been hailed as an example of the close bond the father and son now share.
