A Bristol woman was shocked to discover a baby fox’s head in the middle of the road with its body missing.
Flavia Payne who lives in Hillfields, near Staple Hill, said she discovered the mutilated animal in the middle of a road near to her home.
“After returning home from dropping my children off to school, I noticed as I parked something in the distance which looked like an animal,” she told Bristol Live.
Mrs Payne said it was difficult to really see what it was, but when she got closer she was stunned by what she saw.
“It was the head of a tiny cub, it was horrible, ” she added.
This comes a fortnight after a cat was killed with a crossbow in Mangotsfield.
Having recently heard about the incident in Mangotsfield, Mrs Payne said she immediately contacted local vets who told her to speak with the RSPCA.
She said: “I had to let them know what had happened because I also have pets.
“My cat often goes outside, so I felt frightened and worried – I just couldn’t imagine someone could do that to a poor defenceless animal.”
