A man has been jailed for carrying out despicable acts of animal cruelty which included beating his dog to death and throwing a cat against a wall.
Marley the British bulldog suffered horrific injuries at the hands of sadistic owner Kelvin McKendry, according to the RSPCA.
He died as a result of terrible trauma to his head, body and internal organs, according to an animal pathologist who examined the poor animal’s savaged body.
The 19-year-old brute responsible for the barbarity then buried Marley in woodland near his home.
Police had been looking for Kelvin McKendry in connection with the sickening crime when the RSPCA were called to a report of a badly injured cat at an address in Rose Hill in the village of Woodville, near Ashby, on July 21, last year, reports DerbyshireLive.
When inspector Rachel Leafe, along with police, went to investigate what had happened they found the cat, named Gyspy, had been thrown against a wall, leaving her with a broken pelvis.
