An incident involving a dog who had a chunk of fur ripped out after being bitten by another dog at a Wirral beauty spot has divided readers.
The dog, Coco, was left “shaking like a leaf” after being bitten by another dog at around 5.30pm on Wednesday.
Owner Dan Price was out walking Coco, a Shar Pei, near the Derby Pool in New Brighton on the Wirral when Coco went close to two Border collies.
He says one of the dogs had a ball which Coco started to sniff at, then one of the dogs lashed out and took a chunk out of his dog’s leg before she limped back to her owner.
While Dan was checking on the dog, he says the owners of the collies bundled their dogs into the car and were about to make off when he approached them in their vehicle.
He says the owners denied their dogs had anything to do with Coco’s injuries, leaving Dan “angry” and “in shock” at what happened to his pet and his partner Gillian taking time off work and footing the bill of taking the injured dog to a vets in West Kirby for treatment.
