The children from Deerlands Day Nursery using their new gardening equipment at Riverside Grange.
Submitted by David Wilson Homes
An Essex homebuilder recently welcomed a group of nursery children onsite at its Riverside Grange development in North Fambridge to do some planting.
David Wilson Homes invited ten children from Deerlands Day Nursery to the site where they took turns digging and planting geraniums and euonymus as part of a collaborative effort to bring a dash of colour to the community.
The event followed Children’s Gardening Week and Growing for Wellbeing Week, which have placed greater emphasis on the many benefits of gardening as a recreational activity.
Baines Landscaping was on hand to provide guidance as the children made the most of an educational experience whilst having a hand in brightening up the development for new homebuyers.
Gardening equipment including trowels, forks, watering cans and gloves were sourced for the children and subsequently donated to the nursery from David Wilson Homes.
