A single mum’s living room has been totally transformed on a DIY budget of just £200.
Qualified painter and decorator Suzy Baines, from Runcorn, went out of her way to make a house feel like a home for her friend while not breaking the purse strings.
Suzy said her friend Lisa, also from Runcorn, was moving into a new rented property with her son, Jack, and she offered to decorate the living room ahead of their arrival.
By shopping in B&M, Tesco and Facebook Marketplace, Suzy was able to transform the living space on a budget, and said: “A beautiful home does not have to cost a small fortune.”
Speaking to the ECHO, Suzy said: “Moving home is meant to be one of the most stressful events in a person’s life and I really wanted Lisa to have one room decorated and finished so that at the end of each day she could just relax in there with a glass of wine and close the door to the unpacking and forget about it for a while.”
Before the makeover, Lisa’s new living room looked like a standard living space in a rented property.
