With its enormous proportions, Steve Wainwright’s monster three-pin plug is never going to fit in everyday sockets.
But the 61-year-old admits his bright idea is less about practicality – and all about dreaming big.
Now Steve has built an array of much-larger-than-life household items, including a key, a peg and even a lipstick.
The keen handyman, from Stanground in Cambridgeshire, said his retirement from the ambulance service first prompted him to take on some ‘creative’ building projects.
The former electrician said: ‘I felt a bit lost. I’ve always truly enjoyed engineering, building and DIY and can put my hand to anything.’
Inspiration hit Steve when a prolonged bout of rain stopped him from ‘going out to play’ on one of his many building projects in the garden.
