A developer wants to create a large 140-acre business park on a greenfield site in the countryside.
IM Properties wants to use land near Groby Pool, which is also close to the junction of the A50 and A46, BusinessLive reported.
The company said the Groby site could be create more than 2,000 jobs in the area in logistics, manufacturing and light industry.

And according to IM Properties, the site would be zero carbon and generate about £182 million a year for the local economy.
The developer wants local people who would be affected by the plan, including residents of Groby, Anstey, Ratby, Glenfield, Newtown Linford and Kirby Muxloe, to comment at a website it has created at impgroby.co.uk.
IM Properties said it had already received interest from businesses that might set up on the business park, including from “a number of businesses already established in and around Groby”.
