While it may seem a dramatic move by the Education Minister to call an end to the body which was initially formed to regulate the teaching professions in Northern Ireland, that the council will cease going forward will not come as a surprise.
n the end, the Department had given the council numerous chances to put its house in order, but had simply run out of patience.
