A man’s DIY living room project had initially delighted members of the public. However, they said their “hearts sank” after noticing an unfortunate detail.
Reddit user BurnItNow revealed their “most difficult” renovation project to date and appeared proud of the results in a post to the DIY forum of the website. He wrote: “My wife wanted built in’s in our living room. We have a recessed area where our TV goes.”
But his DIY handiwork in the living room, which saw him installing the new cabinets and television, has left Reddit both impressed and heartbroken.
The man said he ran into “three big troubles” during the build and while people admired the handiwork, the finished product left a lot to be desired.
He wrote: “Three big troubles I ran into a 1. She wanted the ceiling last raises higher… -__- 2. The math didn’t work out on any combination of premade cabinets so I had to learn to build the entire cabinet custom.
“And 3. She wanted full inlay cabinet doors…. So they had to be perfect.”
